CATHOLICS IN THE 2011 AUSTRALIAN CENSUS
Australia’s most recent Census was held on the night of 9 August 2011. As in earlier censuses, this office has acquired significant amounts of extra data about Catholics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Comprehensive reports on for all dioceses and parishes will be available soon.
The ACBC Pastoral Research Office has begun producing national, state, diocesan and parish level tables of 2011 data on the Catholic population. To access these reports click here.
PROFILE OF CATHOLICS IN AUSTRALIA IN 2011
The 2011 Australian Census showed that Catholics remain the largest religious group in the country. There were 5,439,268 Catholics in Australia, making up 25.3 per cent of the total population of 21,507,719. Nearly one-fourth of Australian Catholics (23.6%) were born overseas, including 17.9 per cent who were born in non-English-speaking countries. Click here.

THE 2011 NATIONAL CHURCH LIFE SURVEY
